Some entire grain-less, sharp black the majority of white photography with dream tonal range. I get pleasure from all!! HDR images look great when they are converted to charcoal. From black & white photos I should have get more when shifting it into HDR.
The single most important thing to know about rotating your color digital files to black photos is you want to adjust the contrast and exposure settings til you have a true black plus a bright white. If so you see vibrant colors to any reveals, it's best left in color! the most effective is black & vivid food photography on motion picture!
Black and White Conversions:
1. Convert to Off white scale
2. Use the Hue/Saturation Tool
3. Incline Map
4. Channel Mixer
Or core level of duplicate layer, convert that layer to mono which ever way you wanted, probably best to use Channel Mixer as you can't change the mode of the image to dreary scale (that would turn opposition layer to mono too), and then to erase through the colored areas you want to keep. You can of course do that as well by selecting the area sensed colored and then hitting backspace to take the selected area.
I found it convenient to create one new layer per color since this gives you being able to fine tune with encrypted sheild opacity, different blending modes and masking out areas of over-spill, part masking places that two colors blend and many others. Black and white photography techniques can be cultivated some really nice effect. There are several different ways of producing a black & white colored conversion, some better compared to those obviously, and some that require a little bit more effort. For the record It's my job to use the channel mixer as it helps you tweak the conversion but that is not as complicated as LAB mode!
