The camera does not matter. Many times I be asked if I should identify Nikon, Canon, this components or that model... what you should be asking is how many lenses you need for famous brands photography you want to capture. Yes, I'm talking here about Gear (more about compact digital below). Spend less money in the body that has the features you like, and spend the rest of your money in safely lenses. A very good very high cost camera with cheap lenses offers low quality photos; revert the order and you have a great combination.

When referring to brand; it really doesn't matter either. Most photographers buy one brand over the other because have some lenses already or they like the colors of a advertising. The reality is the reason all cameras these days brings great photographs if combined with high quality lenses... so pick your logo and go buy a body that can get you good easy control about shutter speed, f-stops, ISO, white balance and a decent photometer (which just isn't as important underwater as it's above the water). When it boils down to sensor size then owners decide between Full Formatting (FX - sensor size equals to 35mm) or simply crop format (DX - usually 1. 5x on a feeling Nikon and 1. 6x with regards to Canon). FX is much higher cost that DX and to me it is make sense to the actual extra cash... I rather your time difference in good upgraded lenses.

Don't get caught on your own Mega-pixel marketing campaign! A great deal more mega-pixels don't mean grew photos. Better lenses approach better photos; again: spend money in good quality lenses and forget the mega-pixel and computer features scheme. Some of my top features Nikon D3100, 5100, D7000 or use the Canon Rebel T3, T3i or use the 60D. Don't discard older cameras awesome like the Nikon D40 to the flash sync speed 1/500 towards get on eBay cheap websites (same goes for person of legal age Canon).

Of course Er or him new in underwater camera, but I researched number of lenses before buying the whole. I absolutely love i personally Tokina 10-17mm fish-eye and it is considered a great DX lens including incredible sharpness. Every underwater system deserve this lens for bigger angle and of course chevrolet in atlanta macro a 60mm a pair of. 8. If you have sort of some spare money choose 105mm as well, but would like those two lenses as part of your underwater camera box. I'm also a fun of wide angle photography on land and I truly believe that will want zoom lenses is necessary not close enough as part of your subject, but that is only a matter of preference.

Now how about compact digital cameras? Most point and shoot camera you do not have interchangeable lenses. If you have to a point and make camera, buy a camera that allows you to control shutter speed, website (f-stops), ISO and ritual white balance manually. When you put the budget go for one to become change lenses, but If I would like to spend $1000 for a compact digital, I would rather buy a DSLR and one good lens this is actually possible in that business expenses. Some of my favorite compact digital cameras are the Rule S95 and Canon G12; now take particular notice your budget as a Nikon D40 body are traded for $250 on eBay as well as a Tokina 10-17 fish-eye for about $600 to getting you very close in the high end compact digital cameras and you would've a killer setup.

If I would need to purchase a camera for underwater start employing, I would choose DIGITAL CAMERA. Brand and Features doesn't matter. I would spend the money on lenses. If my finances are getting to high the time including housing and strobes, then I would buy a compact digital that has full User manual mode. I buy my machines from Sink or Swim scuba with Nanaimo; they can really give you a great deal in many underwater housing, strobes and arms systems competeing.
